Last year I was inspired to write, so I created a thread of all the methods I know in IM. You can find that thread here:

As a warning some things may be outdated by now. Anyway...

Today I decided to talk about something much deeper. It takes much more than a method to make any money. One could have all the golden methods in the world and still not earn a penny with the wrong mind set. Throughout my College career I have been off and on with IM and never fully realized why I could not consistently earn online. Finally after some deep thought, a while ago I came to the conclusion that there are really only 3 "keys" needed to succeed in anything you could ever imagine. No, I'm not talking about that bullshit Law of Attraction video everyone's seen, I am talking about an actual formula for success, which I thought I had perfected, but just realized in the past month that it was missing one key ingredient.

The original formula I had come up with stuck with me for a very long time. Here it is:

Hard work + Dedication + Consistency = Success.

Of course, this is the old formula, it's still missing the most important piece of all, but we'll get there in a bit. For now, let's discuss the first 3 pieces in detail.

    Hard Work

What defines hard work? Is it a construction worker working long hours, doing manual labor lifting heavy objects day in and day out? Is it a data entry clerk? Is it the musician playing on the street to get by? Nope. Hard work, in my opinion of course, is simply the courage to overcome obstacles. What are those obstacles? Well first of all most newbies fall into the trap of reading BHW nonstop until their eyeballs fall out. Simply taking action is what defines hard work in this scenario.

Put quite frankly, the truth is that you will fail many more times than you will succeed. If you can't deal with that, then you are breaking the formula, and as such, nothing else will ever fall in place. Failing and continuing is what defines hard work, but if you call it "failing" you are already hurting your chances again. Failing is not failing. It is simply gathering knowledge of one more way how NOT to do something.

    Dedication

Ah dedication. Lots of people think they are "dedicated", but soon they drift away from their IM dreams. Just take a look at most of journey threads here on BHW, mine included. Most people just simply don't have the dedication to continue and push through all the troubles that lye in their way. Being truly dedicated means you will stop at no costs. Sometimes you have to make some sacrifices, but even with these sacrifices, you keep moving forward. A common scenario here is someone that starts earning say, $20/day and thinks that is good enough and stops working. Suddenly they lose that revenue stream, all hope is lost and they quit IM altogether. This can be easily avoiding just by staying dedicated. IM is more than a job, it's a passion, and if you're not dedicated to it, you might as well just quit now. Otherwise, continue reading on for the third part of the formula.

    Consistency

By now you may have noticed how well these 3 ideas go hand in hand. This is going to sound a lot like dedication; however, it is much more than that. Consistency is continuing to work no matter what happens. Maybe you started uploading videos to Youtube every day; the method was working well for you, and then you slowed down. Now you're only uploading videos once a week. You check up on your earnings and you realize that they've went down dramatically. Don't get sucked into something like this. This is so preventable! Do yourself a HUGE favor and get a whiteboard. Write down your daily tasks on it and do them every day, no matter what happens. Remember that talk about sacrifices? You must meet your daily quota. You can slip up one day and then find yourself missing entire weeks, or just leaving it altogether. Don't let that happen!
Ok. So if you've read this far, you're probably wondering what the forth, and most important piece to the formula is. This is what ties it altogether and makes it happen. I'm almost 99% that all successful people, whether they know it or not, have this special piece of the puzzle in the formula of their own. What I'm talking about here is simply "Why?"

    Why?

Wait what? What do I mean by why? Quite simply it's YOUR reason why you want to make money online. Of course, it's much greater than that though. It's not just "Because I need some extra money." This isn't about money. It's something beyond the thought of millions of dollars that make successful people who they are. Maybe it's to give your family what you think they deserve, or maybe it's just to prove to yourself that you truly can achieve what you want in life, no matter your circumstances. For me, what got my ass in gear was a NEED to travel the world. I need to start making some cash soon. I plan to travel most of the world starting in November 2013. This is what drives me. This is what motivates me. This is what makes all of the other pieces of the formula automatically fall into place.

So, now you should really take a minute to truly think about WHY you want to do IM. If you cannot think of a really good answer as to why, I kindly suggest that maybe IM is not for you.

Finally I just have one more thing to say. People always seem to be under the impression that some people are dealt good hands and some people are dealt bad hands. The people with bad hands tend to think the Universe "owes" them success because of the hardships they've been through. Don't fall into this excuse. A wise man once said "The harder I work, the luckier I become." Work your ass of and good things will come to you.

    So...

Find your motivation, apply hard work, dedication and consistency, and you will succeed. Don't let the naysayers tell you otherwise. And of course:

    TAKE ACTION!

thanks a lot.. you really wrote a many of IMers life story here.. IF anyone wants to succeed in IM then they have to stop reading each and every method and start trying one method at one time.. and success will come easily (only if worked hard). This applies to me also.

    Thanks for the input Yogi.

Do you guys think that having a good reason to make money can change things dramatically? Do you think the formula is missing something? Maybe it just doesn't apply to everyone? Let's hear it!
