Just found this off a fb group and thought sharing with my peeps

When real estate sells houses, they are not selling a house, they are selling you the dream of having a home.

When BMW is selling a car, they are not just selling a car, they are selling a dream of social status and the feeling of success.

When a spiritual organization is selling you yoga/meditation classes, they are not selling the training, they are selling a dream of a peaceful future.

When the apparel industry is selling you clothes, they are not just selling something you can wear on top of you, they are selling a dream of you being more attractive in front of others.

Everyone is selling a dream (except commodities).

When you are selling an online course, you are selling a dream of a better career, better health, or better relationships.

Learn to sell a dream. And there is nothing wrong with selling a dream. Because there is a demand for dreams. Once people have food, clothing, and shelter, they want to dream, they want to hope and they are ready to pay for it.

Learn to sell a dream. Because there is nothing else left to sell. (Everything else is made in a factory at China).

Those who sell necessities operate at very small margin.

Everyone is buying a dream

Dream=lie

Every person needs something different. That depends on his state. Depends on what we understand under a dream.

If you listen to the straight line persuasion system by Jordan Belfort he says something very similar - everyone wants to be successful, so when you are selling anything to someone you need to come across as confident and successful - basically everything they want to be, and then they'll buy whatever it is you're selling, because they want to be like you (successful).

Yes. That is great selling skill. Sell dreams for customers and you will get money from them.

In fact everyone can sell everything but can anyone sell the dream?

In order to make any selling feel like a dream, it is crucial that we make their dream ours, sellers passions as our own because when you put yourself in someone else's shoes, you get a clear picture of what they want and that's an easy way to make your selling into their dream. It is all the about the effort you put in to make it look like what they got is as precious as a dream coming true.

I like how you mentioned selling a dream, in sales a lot of the time it's good to have your customer vision how they will use the product and how it will be great for them, the thing is that people love to buy things but hate being sold to

Isn't selling dream the ultimate motto of any successful business? Every business is selling a dream, IMO. Just for an example, I do make handmade soaps (just started very recently). I bought a lot of molds, for each mold I have purchased, I conceptualized a design for my soap. So, doesn't this mean that for every item that I purchased actually renders into an idea (a dream)? I realize, it's a pretty basic example of what I intend to mean, but to me, every business starts by selling a dream, be it big or small.

Agree it is, the highest margin item so far. (included in this, any luxury, branded item, tourism, real estate etc)
the hard part is finding the right dream(dream in this case also mean desire), at the right moment.

Dreams are what keeps people awake.
