Renting a billboard is not as expensive as it seems - there are places where you can rent a billboard for only about $500 a month and it'll get seen by about 60,000 people. But is it worth it for a small business?

Any of you guys branched out to try this? How'd it go?

    Thanks!

It can definitely be worth it for a small business. I've never done it myself, but people don't realize that offline advertising can actually sometimes be economical. I was even surprised that radio commercials are relatively cheap.

Billboards, Radio and even TV spots can be purchased DIRT cheap these days...because of the fact that so many businesses have allocated so much of their advertising to online marketing. Offline is still one of the best bang for your buck options!

Billboards can be quite expensive, especially considering that increasing governmental regulations in the construction and permitting of billboards will lead to a decrease of supply of billboards. In most areas you will be looking at a minimum of $1,000 to $6,000 a month. The average will be around $2,500 For 50,000-75,000 views. A better solution are indoor digital signage networks. They have quicker turnaround time on getting the ads up and average around just $1,000 for upwards of 100,000 views/month

Billboards rock :D, heavily depending on some factors, but when they hit... They hit HARD!

Be original, that's the key to success with them according to my experiences.
