Guys, I’ve never felt proud of myself like this before.

About 3 years ago, there was a small tree growing next to my compound. My neighbor told me to remove it because it might damage the wall.
I didn’t even know what tree it was… but it looked beautiful to me. So instead of cutting it, I took it and planted it near a lake close to my home.
Honestly… I forgot about it.
A few days ago, I had a bad headache, so I took my bicycle and went out. I ended up near that lake…
And I saw it, the tree I planted… fully grown, green, and strong.

I just stood there like “damn… that’s my boy.”

If you’ve ever planted a tree, go visit it once. It’s a different kind of feeling.

Wishing you and your growing family all the best :D

I didn't planted a tree yet, but in my free time, I enjoy gardening - the plants change every 3-4 months, if you know what i mean, so they don't come as a tree version unfortunatelly.

There is a youtube channel where they dig up random stuff, put it into a jar and then you watch how an ecosystem grows overtime with just junk from the environment.

Wow, that’s such a proud moment! I hope to plant a tree myself someday.

I’ve planted two trees in my life, near my house. Now I just need to have two sons :)

I do have a crypto project whose tokenomatics is based along this line

That’s lovely, I have a few plants too. Sometimes I wonder how the tree I forget about grows strong, but the indoor plants I care for daily goes on a suicide mode if I miss watering for just a couple of days. :weep:

Sounds interesting, what's the channel name?

Yeah you should. I have this feeling now, if anybody hurt my tree I am becoming John Wick

Wow great, I am planning to expanding my family too :D

By the way this is the channel I was referencing earlier

Truly amazing how our ecosystem works.

Wow, that's so interesting. Just watched. I also have heard of a experiment where they left a glass container untouched for decades it formed it own trophical ecosystem inside it.

I think this is it,

I had the honor of planting a Milkwood tree at a Safari lodge here in South Africa when they first opened around 10 x years ago. I visited the site recently and I am happy to report that my tree is looking very healthy and growing like crazy. Planting a tree is such a mundane sounding task, but very rewarding in the long run.

I totally can relate. Planted a tree for each of my two daughters and to see the trees grow next to them ... Priceless!

My parents did the same when I was born. And when I fell ill as a child, that tree also began to wither. But once I started to get better, the tree did too. That’s what my parents told me. Personally, I don’t believe in all that mystical stuff :)

But i can second that. Not with beeing sick, but the older one is very lean, a little easier to cry and her tree is also very tall and slim.
The younger one is a little bull and very tough. Her tree is too, that one is not bending when there is wind, and its still only 2 years :D

I grew up on an orchard. Apple, pear and cherry so I've planted plenty of trees. But the one I'm most proud of (and kind of sad to see it go) is the Bay Laurel tree.

When I bought it years ago, it was advertised as a "bush". At my old house, I had a very nice herb garden and since I do a lot of soups and stews in the winter, wanted fresh bay leaves. So I picked it up. Nobody told me that if you plant it in open ground it could become an almost two and a half freaking meter TREE.

So, sitting out on my patio is a new Bay Laurel "bush." I should go get a branch and see if I can propagate off the original tree but I think 1 is enough. My next job is to figure out where the best place to put the new "bush". I wonder if it's in an open spot vs a big raised bed if it'll become even bigger. :D

But, that's the story of how my old house now has around an 8 foot bay leaf tree...

I planted 2 and from 0
So not just moving an existing tree like you did

It's okay if it is mystical, it's a beautiful thing to do.

Wow, I love this. I will try this too when I have a kid.
Ah you remind me of my childhood memories.

yeah I have planted and it grown like a average height and I left the town due to my parents work life

I really missed those days I have spent with the plant, friends and the surroundings. :)
I think you should pay a visit to that tree. Who knows tree might be happy seeing you too.

I’ve got a few herb plants too. Never thought of planting them in the ground. Sometimes I am running out of basil leaves, now I’m tempted to try! :D

Great! I have planted one yesterday.
This is the best feeling anyone can have it's like a father seeing his young ones growing
Exactly, try planting one yourself
