Ugh.

Yesterday I ate some pork that had been in the fridge for four days. Checked it before I cooked it. Didn't smell spoiled. Smelled like pork. So I cooked it up really good (it was practically black on both sides; pan-seared it) and ate it.

Worst. Decision. Ever.

If you've ever had food poisoning you know what I'm talking about. I don't want to get to graphic here, but I spent 4 hours purging from both ends. I couldn't even keep water down.

Eventually I mustered the strength to get online and try to find a home remedy for it. Apple cider vinegar kept coming up so I went and took a teaspoon of that straight, without diluting it.

Bad idea.

I threw it up immediately.

So then I got back online to see what else would work. It was recommended that you dilute the ACV with water and then take some activated charcoal. So I put one teaspoon of ACV in 16 ounces of water and sipped on it until my stomach calmed down. Then I took two activated charcoal pills.

It worked.

I was able to sleep without getting up. Also haven't ran to the bathroom since I took it. Now my stomach is growling but I don't trust food to it, so I'm just going to sit around and drink water and Powerade today.

Ever had food poisoning? Did you ride it out or take something for it? I heard it can last for days. I wasn't about to go through that. 4 hours was enough.

Thank you internet.

I don't think I ever had food poisoning. I don't buy much at once, buy some, eat or or throw it away to avoid that happening. Always buying in small quantities.

it does not matter the age of the meat if somehow it got bacteria on it when it was processed or delivered to your store. this happens a lot and is why people get sick even if the meat is not spoiled because it gets contaminated.

I live in a house with four other people. We buy in bulk.

You're lucky you never had it. It's probably the worst experience in being sick I ever had. I kept hoping I 'd die in my sleep. It was that bad.

You're right.

This is actually my first time getting food poisoning. Now I'm extremely paranoid.

I think that's what makes bacon so tasty. Yum yum.

Pigs are gross. They're basically scavengers, just like chickens. But they taste good. After this bout of paranoia is over I'll probably go back to indiscriminately eating both of them.

Eat more of them as punishment for their ancestor making you ill.

I'll eat pork here and there but it's a dry meat anyway. The only pork worth eating is bacon.

For 2 days I practically lived on the toilet due to Salmonella Poisoning. Non stop from both ends.
Had been on a booze session with a mate and we had gone for a Chinese in Chinatown, next day I was still hungover so ordered some Chicken from one of those KFC imposters.
The delivery guy had 1 finger missing and half a thumb but I was Hungry.
Not entirely sure where I was poisoned but Chicken guy is odds on favourite as to being the culprit.

I've experienced food poisoning once, from pork as well. Let's just say the pain was enough to keep me up for almost 2 days and I started to hallucinate. That shit fucking sucked dude.

Never ever. I had some family who seemed to get food poisoning every other week though. I usually tended to avoid the resturaunts they would go to.

I feel better but I'm still kind of weak. I can't imagine doing this for two days straight. I'd be begging someone to kill me.

Bet you never ordered chicken fingers again, did you Wilson?

Pewep would have saved you with his mental powers. Should've contacted him xD

Never had food poisoning, sounds terrible.

I always thought it would just make your stomach hurt a bit and throw up but this sounds a lot more painful then I imagined.
