Ugh.
Yesterday I ate some pork that had been in the fridge for four days. Checked it before I cooked it. Didn't smell spoiled. Smelled like pork. So I cooked it up really good (it was practically black on both sides; pan-seared it) and ate it.
Worst. Decision. Ever.
If you've ever had food poisoning you know what I'm talking about. I don't want to get to graphic here, but I spent 4 hours purging from both ends. I couldn't even keep water down.
Eventually I mustered the strength to get online and try to find a home remedy for it. Apple cider vinegar kept coming up so I went and took a teaspoon of that straight, without diluting it.
Bad idea.
I threw it up immediately.
So then I got back online to see what else would work. It was recommended that you dilute the ACV with water and then take some activated charcoal. So I put one teaspoon of ACV in 16 ounces of water and sipped on it until my stomach calmed down. Then I took two activated charcoal pills.
It worked.
I was able to sleep without getting up. Also haven't ran to the bathroom since I took it. Now my stomach is growling but I don't trust food to it, so I'm just going to sit around and drink water and Powerade today.
Ever had food poisoning? Did you ride it out or take something for it? I heard it can last for days. I wasn't about to go through that. 4 hours was enough.
Thank you internet.
