How can I evaluate a website i want to sell?

I have a social bookmarking website (similar with digg) for 1 year and a half, it is PR2, I have some banners on it that get me around $70/month and I have around 800-1000 visitors per month, most of them coming from a WordPress plugin with social bookmarking icons to promote articles.

The website is on info domain and is optimized for a local market, so it is better to sell it to someone from my own country...I won't leave the link here...I just need to know what would be a good price to start.

I would start with $1 but put up a reserve of how much you think it is worth to you. I saw a social bookmarking site PR 2 sell yesterday for $255. But if the site is not in English, the value might be less/or the market could be much smaller.

A good starting point to gauge the value of your site is a multiple of the monthly revenue. The rule of thumb seems to be 10-12x monthly revenue which is what a lot of established sites sell for.

This number is by no means set in stone and isn't always accurate. Obviously there are many other factors that go into the value of a site, but in your situation with a PR 2 site that's a year and a half old, I see no reason why you couldn't get around the 12x revenue mark for it.

The only thing I think you may have an issue with is if the site only caters to your local market, because then the amount of people that have a use for the site would be much lower than if it were a site that caters to people around the whole world. If that were the case, you may want to try and sell it locally.
