This is what happens when people does shady shit with chat apps, get used to it. It will be more of this in the future. The good thing about it is that those pesky criminals is getting caught.

I don´t like it either, but at the same time I hate fckn drugdealers hiding in crypted chats.

nah, that's completely wrong.

I want my privacy.

Find another way to catch criminals. Make the laws stricter, increase jail time but you don't have the right to invade my privacy "just because".

That will be really nasty...very very nasty... The politicians themselves wont let it pass because it will surely work against them.
 
I very highly doubt that it would pass.

If it does (for whatever reason), it’s not going to really do much.

Any criminals actually worth catching are not going to be sending unencrypted messages.

Any high-level criminals that are dumb enough to be sending unencrypted messages would get caught either way at some point.

I personally could care less. Any information/messages that I don’t want anyone impartial to see would get encrypted by me either way.

its pretty damn Orwellian tbh - - I doubt it'll pass, won't it imply having to break E2E?
either way, now's a good time to start looking at things like Element/Matrix messenger and self-hosted Email

I don't think any small company would give a damn.

If it's only for big chats, well, actually it's good haha. Less money for the ultra rich aliens. ;)
