The ProtectEU initiative is not just another law, it is actually opening the door to total control. The European Commission is now officially promoting the idea of creating back doors in end-to-end encryption systems.

Simply put:
None of your messages, any of your files, or any of your personal data will be safe on European services anymore.

No company or service registered in the EU can guarantee your real privacy. Any of your activity can be intercepted, decrypted and used against you.

What does this mean in practice?
Any European hosting provider will be required to integrate hidden access mechanisms into its infrastructure.

Any domain registrar may be forced to transfer data about their clients without your knowledge.

Any data storage service will be forced to keep public keys that can be used by third parties.

Which means:
Your private correspondence is no longer private.
Your anonymous project is no longer anonymous.
Your business projects are at risk of information leaks.

EU had a quite along time to stop it from passing
yet they didnt do anything

Not surprised, honestly. This kind of push has been brewing in EU circles for a while now. If it goes through, expect a lot of infra and teams to quietly move ops outside EU jurisdiction. You just can’t build privacy-first tools when the base layer itself is compromised.
 
I am more than confident that all these "technologies" will be implemented quietly.
Infomed means armed.

And they are safe on US, Russian, China, or anywhere else's servers, right?!

The problem is for the others outside EU, too. If A, from US, sends a message to B, from EU, even A is smart enough and protect his stuff with custom ROM, etc, B will still leaks his received data, through his EU device, so everybody in the World will suffer, not only B from EU. That's said, it's an World Wide problem, not just an EU issue.

That's said, we're all in this sheet, together, like an United Nation :rolleyes:

The main rule is to never trust anyone, especially in the Internet (no matter how corny it may sound). All these restrictions simply lead to private and underground service providers having to improve their security measures to prevent surveillance and the leakage of personal data. As a result, the costs of these services will start to rise disproportionately.
 
well they probably had access already, its just "official"
privacy now a days is just a bad joke

just this morning I was talking on the phone about selling webdesign services on US and Canada, The
chat went about pricing and how much could I charge selling on those countries and the main difference on selling here

guess what? youtube already had a video ready for me "how to price your web design services" its just ridiculous... i was not even on whatsapp I was on my cellphone line talking to my family
AI hears everything and knows everything about everyone... just a matter of time before the whole world accepts it as it is
 
Europe is in decline. They were pioneers in privacy related laws, but now its a joke. You all will be fed with irrelevant news till they complete this task. Good catch op.
 
Well if you work legaly and everything its fine i think you should not have reasons to wory .I am right ?
 
If I write what I think about the EU, I might get banned.

Therefore: If you think its a good idea to start an online business within the EU (or also the UK) in the year 2025, I think its a very bad idea. Go to Dubai, the US, Hong Kong, Singapore or somewhere else. Think twice before making a decision where to incorporate your country. Don't try to ride on a dead horse.

You are correct and incorrect both. It depends whether you believe in communism or democracy. Communism say govt should hold all power . Democracy , you know. There must be some trust on citizen that they will take care of themself. So much control in the hands of govt is not good sign, especially for Europe which is developed.

why would you get banned? Make your point in civilized manner and I dont think, you will face any issue here.
