Ethically, Is There A Difference Between Email Spamming VS Web Spamming?

I am curious on your thoughts and opinions on this?

There's pretty much no difference i guess. Off the top of my head anyway.
 
Based on whose ethics? My ethics? - Yeah. Email spamming is more direct than web spamming. Therefore I would say email spamming is less ethical.

Ethics are on a personal level, personally I dont bother with emails, or webspam. Its much better to find something legit and use your BH knowledge to gain the edge ethically/legally.

I think since emails directly go to people without invitation then ethically there is a separation from web spamming since that can only be seen from eyes that go looking around online.

Whether on is more right than the other, I guess that would be up to ones own ethical and moral code. I have seen things that I didnt think were wrong but others may, and vice versa.

I think it is completely same, but when it is legal to send what you do not want to your normal mail box I do not know why it is illegal to spam your email :)

Because of Can Spam Act. People used to send out ridiculous emails out all porn and shit. Not that I agree whether this should actually be illegal, since now there are filters and stuff. And I think it should be up to a person to set their own email filters.
 
When you spam by email, you are hitting someone's inbox without permission. When you spam the web, you are spamming the webmaster of that site. So it is the same IMO.

Sort of, but many sites are commercial bodies/ businesses and thus its not as personal.

both are technically similar but email spam is definitely more personal.
 
Well pointed out. I was talking about average personal websites and not the big players. Obviously, email spamming is more personal in these cases, comparable to something like the facebook graph search thingy as for example.

I think the general idea of the two is the same. Ethically though, I'm getting more into black hat stuff and where I don't think ethics is non existent in black hat activities, I don't think it's really a big deal. Then again, we are on a black hat forum lol
