Escaping the Rat Race ?

Stop calling it "the rat race" you make it sound like people that work 9-5 are rats. Stop looking down on people for not being entrepreneurial, there's nothing wrong with that. This term came to life from fake gurus, and it's exactly what gurus do to persuade you to buy something. Look down on you, pick on you, and say they got some magical XYZ to get you out of that.

I earn probably 10X more than I could working for any company, I do not like having a boss, this lifestyle suits me best and before the pandemic, if I wanted a change of scene I could just rent a beach house in whatever country and go work from that, I can't think of many jobs where you can do that.

Its hard work, you get the rewards for it.

That being said, there are definitely upsides to a 9-5 vs being an entrepreneur. Working by yourself can seem lonely, and some people can’t thrive in this scenario.

A 9-5 gives you a sense of community. You work on teams, make friends that you see daily, etc. Once you quit, you’ll eventually lose most of those friends/acquaintances you made.

Also, some people are happier working for a set time and then being able to enjoy the rest of their day with no commitments.

I’d say do whatever keeps you happy

With covid and other issues normal people encounter I would never go for a stable 9 to 5 job.

I normally do not like people to yell me and tell me what to do.

Having a freedom to go anywhere and live anywhere, work naked or in pajamas and doing promos on your phone when drinking a coffee with boring friends that anyways stare in their phones for nothing is amazing.

I have had bad times in IM but I always save part of my earnings to reinvest and I never keep my eggs in one basket.

I have a few established domains, fiverr, seoclerks, upwork, peopleperhour and I maintain these and always deliver quality whenever I want i can just focus on one of them more and earn min $100 day. But the key here is respecting a your clients and not saying NO to a regular so sometimes you will have to work on New Year's eve or on your anniversary. It is worth the sacrifice however if you have good friends and a good partner of course that can understand this and not get angry if you are not around as normal 9 to 5 people would be. For example I work in the nights and go to bed around 3 PM after 16 hours of work, some people would expect to see me 6 to 9 PM when I sleep, as it is when they are available, but again there is nothing to be missed.
