Escaping GoDaddy and DomainsByProxy

Just came across a great article on how to extract yourself from the chains of domainsbyproxy and godaddy. If you cannot get into your account, check out this guy's article. It saved my bacon today.

Awesome. Yeah if I'm forced to register with GoDaddy (ie buying at auction etc), as soon as the 'probation' period is over I transfer names straight out. By far the most difficult registrar I've ever dealt with.

Godaddy also keeps the info in your account receipts. You have to go thru old transactions, but you can find it. I have a lot of old domains with them, ones I purchased when I first started. At namesilo you can get free Whois privacy. It's about $8 per domain. So cheap. My favorite right now.
