I'm getting the following error when submitting pages for manual indexing and during live URL submission. I initially thought it might be a temporary Google issue, but I'm not experiencing this problem on other sites; it's only happening on one site right now. I haven't made any recent changes to files like robots.txt, and there are no crawling issues; Screaming and other bots are crawling the site. I'm experiencing this problem even when submitting pages that are already indexed, including the homepage.

This problem occurs on the main version (http://www.).

It works on my subdomains like global. de.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem recently?

An error occurred while submitting your indexing request. Please try again later.

Live URL testing, manual indexing request submission, and rich content testing are not working.

It sounds like a site-specific issue rather than a general Google problem. My advice would be to double-check that the preferred domain version is consistent in Search Console (http vs https, www vs non-www) and that the main property is properly verified. Also, give it a little time and monitor Search Console for any hidden notifications or coverage issues, as Google sometimes temporarily limits requests on specific properties.

Do you think this is a punishment? I've seen people all over the internet experiencing similar problems, but it seems no solution has been found for any of them.

id say its likely something on your end ive seen this happened before to buisness partners

The site is translating code 200, but the page appears as unavailable. Could this be a crawling issue? The only recent site-specific change I've made is removing too many unnecessary campaign pages and replacing them with 301 redirects for the relevant categories. Could this be causing a crawling problem or penalty?

Does anyone have any ideas on this specific issue? My problem persists.

This typically indicates Google has temporarily restricted or flagged your main domain for potential policy violations or unusual server behavior, while subdomains remain unaffected. Check Search Console for manual actions or security issues, and ensure your server isn't blocking Googlebot's crawl via firewalls or rate limits. The restriction usually lifts automatically after a few days if no violation is found

Why might I be experiencing this issue? It's been 5 days and it hasn't been resolved. There are no manual penalties or security warnings. When I create a new page, it gets indexed and ranks, but when I view the crawled pages in Search Console, it says "not found" in the page sources. It seems it's only crawling HTML, not images or JavaScript. I'm using Shopify and can't make any server-side changes, but I don't think it's blocking anything.

This points to a Shopify theme or app conflict that's serving stripped-down, text-only HTML to Googlebot (likely via an overzealous SEO app or misconfigured crawler handling). Check your theme's robots.txt and liquid files for conditional rendering based on the user-agent. The "not found" in page source suggests critical resources (CSS/JS) are blocked, causing a render mismatch.

I had this issue after a server migration. It took google some time to catch up.

How long did it take?

I haven't made any major server/theme-based changes; the biggest recent change to the site was removing the discount pages from the sitemap and giving them a 301 redirect.

I suspect there might be a penalty because it coincides with a period of fluctuation following the algorithm update around January 8-9, but I'm getting indexed in a very illogical way. The crawling continues even though it's slow, but manual indexing, live URL testing, and rich content testing aren't working.

Friends, the problem persists, it's been 5 days and I haven't found a solution, let alone the source of the problem. We're waiting for answers from SEO experts on this matter.

Looks like a temporary Google/Search Console issue with your main domain; check www vs non-www, canonicals, and try again later.

The non-www version has been redirected to the www version; it was like this before, I don't think there's a problem.

The problem persists even after 10 days. Live URL testing, manual indexing tools, and rich content testing are not working.

There is no index loss; new content is being indexed, but images related to the content are not.

My observation is that the page is being crawled and returning code 200, but other content on the page is not being crawled. What could be the reason? Are different bots crawling the page and other content types, or are certain parts of the page somehow blocked from crawling? I am using the normal robots.txt file created by Shopify.

In this whole group, isn't there even one person experiencing a similar problem?

Brother, this is a Google issue. I've encountered this problem before. One possible reason is that you haven't refreshed the webpage for a long time. Refreshing the page might solve it, but sometimes it doesn't work. This message indicates that the submission has already been processed, so you don't need to worry. If you have any doubts, you can keep submitting until you reach the 10th submission, at which point you'll see a message indicating that your quota has been used up. You can try following my method.
