Did anyone ever found out about why they were closed and why haven't they reopened? I was thinking about them the other day,and its been about 18 months since they got shut down for some bogus reason it seemed. I heard rumours that the guy that owned them was going to pay people when they requested wire transfer but idk if that was true or not.

after VISA gave them the middle finger, they didn't have any other possibility than shutting down the circus
there must have been some shady things (money laundering?) goin which VISA didn't like much (well, i guess they could care less until they get their cut, but it's against the law:))

here's an "interesting" site about their CEO, Christopher Mallick:

Middle Men was a good movie btw

the fact they shut down their doors was just a normal consequences after they got kicked from gambling processing merchants :) ... they had their chance to bank millions processing gambling transaction , got greedy and play hard with pstar/partypoker :) , they learned on their ass '' how big boys '' play :)) . I don't think they had too much revenue from adult marketplace but ... still keep them in bizz for some short and not so glorious time lol . Heard some '' unofficial rumours '' if you can say so lol , quite ago they refuse to make some pretty serious payments over those two gambling rooms and from there they started to get troubles . Well anyway their main stream revenue ofcourse come from '' middle man '' for us poker players ... after UIGEA come out they got ass rapped you know ...

I was reading some more about loses that people had,and I've seen several that had $10,000 in epassporte that they lost, because of mallick refusing to pay. I had some friends that lost a few thousand because of VISA stopping.

@keinhabe Was it possible the poker companies paid off someone in the St kitts bank to get VISA to cancel the cards for epassporte?

Reading about them again, has made me become more interested in bitcoins just wished more places accepted them atm,but its growing, last June there was less then 100,now it seems to be about 1500.

yeh :) actually visa and mastercard can do pretty nasty shits over the payment processors lol :) ... what I know with sure , at some peak time epassporte used to process an very serious share from party's transactions lol ( well at least for US and canadian customers was their first choose ) .

Thing is like this ( actually the normal path ) ... their used to issue those cards from an st.kitts bank witch are held an visa license so they obey to the rules of visa ( like any other bank worldwide who wanna issue cards with visa brand ( or to process transactions with those cards ) .What UIGEA done , cut the connection between various banks and the damn gambling transactions lol ( they didn't put out of the law gambling per se ) they forbid banks to pay on interchange merchants gambling related transaction . So visa and mastercard was first organisations hit by this . Bit logic if you think ... anyway , epassporte didn't had from start any chance to survive on long term run ( poor and very bad customer support / straight jump into such sensitive market ... extremely bad verification systems ... and list can continue ) ...

I had low xx,xxx in my epassporte when they shut down.
Requested a wire, mailed them everything they needed.

Nothing.

That fuk disappeared with a lot of people's money and it shouldn't be allowed to end this way.

well :) I`m really sorry for you but ... you must understand some things lol :) the company who operate ( or the company used to operate epass ) was on nl. antiles this company was dissolved when visa shut down their prepaid cards , actually not visa enforce this action just the bank who actually issue them there is a small catch ... the bank from st.kitts issue cards for an 3'th party ( a company from nl. antiles ) now ... what actually happens and what I seriously still suspect happened it's back on 2009 I think the antiles got independence from netherland government ) they are now independent country and their incorporated companies must follow to all other european/international laws ... The bank who issue the cards , was forced by visa to close this '' batch '' of cards because of the bad practices ( poor customer support and of course the market where they was actually active at the time ) I don't know if you understand guys but adult / porn market it's pretty nasty and they keep an eye always close into this mainly because of the illegal porn(s) [ just like a note short after e-gold servers got seized by feds - I saw on some forums some pretty ugly rumours about child porn and such ] .
Now back to the topic , what I wanted to tell you to not even expect this moneys to come sometime for you lol , the antiles companies have limited time to dissolve their assets ( to close their bizz like ) ... after this time goes all the '' inventory left '' belongs to former owner lol :) .

I had about 4000 dollars there when they shut, i got paid everything. am from the UK and i had a VISA card from them, it was disabled, then enabled later on, and i was able to take almost everything, i had $5 dollars left in there when the card stopped working after a year. I have nothing bad to say about Mallick lol

Its crazy how some people were paid when others weren't. The whole debacle makes a decentralized payment and currency system much more attractive.

That had nothing to do with Mallick, luckily the bank that issued the physical cards turned them back on and enabled people to get their money. That is also how I got mine out, but if you had your money in your Epass wallet and not on the card you got screwed.

Yea i managed to get some from my Visa card but everything I left in my wallet is gone.

I'm surprised he hasn't been charged with any crimes yet. He fucked over thousands of people, and he lives in the U.S. which is supposedly strict when it comes to scams and white collar crimes.

I loved ePassporte while it lasted, but they did fuck over a ton of people by not honoring and paying out account balances. Lucky I didn't have much w/ them at that point, moved most of it out sans a few hundred.

A couple of months ago a bunch of people on GFY were claiming that they got paid out in full, with balances in the $50-100K range. Epass pricks never paid me. :mad2:

I waspaid with exception of around 90 bucks in my epass card. All the rest was wired out to me very fast.

The guy made us sign a document that says something about we couldn't sue him, if he paid blah blah blah

still owes me lower end of $xx,xxx ...Motherf*cker hope he dies in a fire.

Im pretty sure that you can still sue him over that amount even though a contract was signed. Not all contracts are valid, you really should contact a lawyer to see if you can sue him.

I have nearly $32k in my 'wallet' and used epassporte since hours of it opening. Shame it couldn't end amicably.
