Hi,

I posted something like this before, but got zero replies. Thanks to those who responded and pm'd me about my most recent post.

Here's what I'm doing. I'm a mainstream recording artist from a group that has sold millions of records all over the world. I have recorded a solo album.

I am doing many things marketing-wise that is outside of the box. I have been following what you all are doing on here for the last couple of months, and am fascinated by the whole black-hat way.

I am giving away my new album online for free to anyone who registers at my website. My goal is to get over 1 million registered by Christmas. I want to get the album out to as many folks as I can all over the world, without costing them anything.

I don't know whether I should've posted this in the JV section or this one, so please forgive me.

I am interested in getting your thoughts and opinions about how to best go about marketing this using traditional and non-trad methods. I have companies in place that can do this traditionally, but as I mention, I want as many emails as I can get. I've been working on this album for awhile ands want it heard. I already have a list of over a million emails that I;ve compiled over the past few months from fansites, and sites with artists of the same fanbase.

I am setting up a very mainstream media PR program with interviews all over the place.

Please let me know if this is something any of you would like to be a part of.

Thanks.

Is Advetising in Music/Entertainment Forums about your Album considered Traditional?? If thats okay for you, thats what i will Accomplish ;)

I think "advertising" on facebook, myspace, and beginng to utilize twitter is just now being done regularly from a major record label standpoint.

Blasting the entertainment forums, and websites constantly and creating brand awareness via some of the methods described on these wonderful pages has not really been done, has it?

I haven't seen it with regards to the promotion of a record/album, has anyone else?

Thanks for your post. Nobody else has any ideas or interest? If not, I appreciate you all and your efforts to be successful. Quite impressive.
