Entering a New World

Hey Fellow Black Hatters, I still dont feel dignified considering myself one as I am brand new to this.

I have interacted with several of you and give you many thanks, I have learned a great deal On BHW , I found this site but mere luck about a 10 days ago and I have been glued to this page since.

I have been reading page after page but a lot of these things go right over my head I have no idea where to start or what many of the topics even mean.

I have currently been working on making a quality Twitter account with many followers to try and get campaigns for tweeting which i saw this method in a forum posted days ago.
I have not had much luck with that.

I know that being spoonfed is frowned upon and I respect that and admire the challenge to help each learn by getting our hands dirt( even though they will be quite clean on this keyboard)

But I would appreciate it if anyone out there would be willing to just point me to a direction or any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just keep trying and don't give up. After you make a couple bucks it becomes a lot easier.

You mentioned Twitter and trying to make a quality account.

You can get the free version of Tweet Attacks (although paying for Pro is the way to go). Find a user that is in the niche you are targeting and follow their followers. Resist the temptation to go too fast on the following. Each day follow and unfollow a reasonable number. I usually shoot for 190-199 per day which is conservative but pretty safe. You will start to get people following you back.

Make your Twitter account look legit. Change the background, be sure to have a profile pic, fill out all of the about information.

Create lists and add a few people to them. Reply to people, retweet, favorite a few tweets and you will look like a real user. If you want to make a long term Twitter account this is key.

The one piece of advice i can give you is to start off small!!

Don't read other peoples success stories here and expect the same results straight off the bat! A decent income takes time to build up - start off small, and when you see earnings, scale it up!

Also, just because a method works for 1 person, it doesn't mean it will work for the next. Dont copy a method exactly, instead try and switch it up and put your own twist on it. Be creative, thats how true marketers are successful.

One last tip, and the most important ... NEVER GIVE UP!!!

IM, just like in the offline world, is HARD WORK!! And, if in the back of your mind your thinking you got lucky because this will be easy and take less time, sorry. Success takes time and effort, that has not changed. So this business is no different from others, except in this business you'll be sitting on your ass most of the day.

This is all very very good advice guys, I truly appreciate it.
I dont think I will pursue the Twitter thing as I dont see much potential there but this forum is so broad there are so many directions to go.
I will be trying some of the smaller methods and see how they work out.

I read a lot about "affiliates programs"
How does one get in one of those?


and Yes I intend to work very hard at this, its an exciting learning process
