Enhanced bidding madness

I have a problem with my Manual bids. Google changes my clients campaigns every 3-10 days back to enhanced bidding and make the costs explode. I have to watch everyday to be sure it stay manual and I try to understand how I can stop this. I set up everything to manual CPC with no other options. Anyone experienced this before?
