I'm not sure if I should start my cooking channel in english or in my native language.
Since I don't do that much talking in my videos I think even with basic english it should be fine.
For example italian channels in my niche have way lower subs (highest subscriber count is like 300k subs / average like 40k subs) and english speaking channels are like 1,2m subs.

There are some Pro/Cons:

English:
+More potential reach
+More Subscribers are possible
+More companies to corporate with
+Buying services like Backlinks/SEO/Others are easier to get and cheaper
+I'm forced to speak english on a daily/weekly basis which helps me on my 9to5 job aswell
-Competition is a lot higher

Native language (for example Italian):
+Competition is lower
+Easier to speak
-Less Subscriber
-Less potential reach

Actually I don't want to run an italian/english channel. I would like to focus for one language at the beginning.

I would do English. You can get more viewers and not be limited.

Also if you decide to sell it in the future, it will be easier and more profitable.

English channel with native subtitles

Yeah I also thought about this.

I think it would be easier to build an audience in my native languague since it's easier but the total reach will be a lot lower.
And I couldn't use services or other things like reddit since there are not that much subreddits in my language.

did you ever think about about creating smth like Tasty from Buzzfeed? 3-5min short and easy to follow
seems to work good, no speaking needed, international wide reach, very shareable. one minus- less of your personality involved
or if you do it in native language, to increase the reach you can also review delivery services, ranking them etc
