english expired domain use for other language?

hi,

i am looking for a very strong domain, suitable for my niche. the only thing is that i want to use the domain to build a german blog on it.

therefore the question can it work to take an english site and later use content in another language on it?

what are your opinions and experiences?

It doesn't look ideal, but at least you will head start with some basic reputation. Better than starting from scratch.

Yes I have many captured english domains used for words in my own language. They work better than my brand new domains, but way worse than more specific domains.
