Has anyone else noticed a significant decrease in engagement on posts that might be a result of even further limited reach by Instagram?
Engagement/Reach Significantly Down?

There are a few theories that have caused this. Lets say you are in the luxury niche,
Theory One:
Instagram is getting bigger and bigger, people are following more and more people meaning that instead of following.. lets say 2 luxury pages they are now following 5.
What does this mean for you? Basically Instagram has made your followers feeds show the pages that they show most interest in at the top. Meaning that if they are following more than one luxury page, Instagram will rank the one they engage with the most at the top of their feed. It must be known Instagram prioritizes "Family, and Friends" at the top of the feed, how they decide is unknown. It is thought that they organize your feed by how much you engage with accounts. For example in an article I was reading, someone LOVED Kim Kardashian, she would comment and like every post. Meaning her entire feed was filled with the newest Kardashian posts. I have personally experienced this with other pages myself.
Theory Two:
It has been thought that Instagram will show your new post to a select group of people, then depending if they engage or not, they will show it to a larger group. What this means is if Instagram shows your post to 10 people and they DO NOT engage, then Instagram will show it to less people. Meaning you need to be posting Viral Content. Not just regular content.
Its also important to know Instagram's standpoint in all of this. They want to keep people on the app as long as possible, meaning that they need those people to see content that will grab their attention and keep them browsing. With this knowledge it is perfectly fine to speculate Theory One and Two being correct. Since seeing posts you engage with will keep you on the app longer. Its also vital to understand that no one truly knows the algorithm, its essentially "Im going to test this and make a conclusion based on the results" when finding out what is really going on.
What helped me? Posting viral content brought my engagement back up. I no longer was posting from random people that were in my niche, I was posting posts that were viral. This essentially brought my engagement back up.
