Situation:
I have an account with 19K followers. My current engagement rate is 1-2%. Similar accounts in my niche can reach up to 10%.
I have been botting for years (on and off), however I have not been shadowbanned. According to my business stats, 1-2% of my reach comes for hastags and other.
According to other users on BHW, Instagram will estimate the quality of your post based on reach and will decide based on engagement if your post is worthy of explore and top posts.
My account is somewhat "unclean", I have had DM bans, blocks, etc. Because of botting in the past. I've tried building other accounts which have been banned on the same IP as soon as I put a link.
Hypothesis:
There is a website that can purge any follower that hasn't liked a post in the last month which would put me at around 11K followers. This mean that my initial reach would be to engaged followers, which would boost my post so most of my following can see the post.
My Question is: Would it create a real difference? Has anyone tried this expirement in the past?
Alternatives:
1. Powerlikes
I have never tried them but would they work on an account like mine, or do they mostly work on small accounts?
2. Keep botting into oblivion
I feel like the follow/unfollow method is dieing and I'm not sure what to do.
Tl;dr
Does reducing inactive followers boost engagement?
