Engagement Issues

So, I had an account in the car niche, at one point I was getting 1k likes per picture great followers per day. Now I know where I went wrong and that was two things. I stopped posting for a while, and I tried to convert the account into something else. I lost around 1k followers to the conversion which set me back to 19400, now after a week I'm up back to 20.2k followers and growing at over 100 a day.

My engagement seems dead though, getting roughly 170-250 likes a picture. Will I ever recover to the engagement I had?

I have a few accounts which used to have 3k likes now if they get 1k it's a miracle..would like to know too how to recover

Yeah I'm debating on downloading 100 pictures, and just letting follow liker do everything and see where the account goes after a month 3 pics a day and let it go
