Hey all,
When engagement drops, do you usually blame algorithm changes or adjust content strategy first?
Curious how others approach this.

It depends, both algorithm abd content may be the reasons of bad results. but for my personal opinion, algorithm is more influencial

Always assume it's a content resonance issue first; the algorithm rewards what the audience engages with, so analyze your top-performing posts for patterns and A/B test new hooks and formats based on those insights before attributing it to a platform shift.

When engagement drops, I usually review the content and strategy first before assuming it’s an algorithm change. Audience behavior, consistency, and creative direction often play a big role.

If the decline continues over time — and others in the same niche see it too — then I start considering possible algorithm shifts and adjust based on data

in my experience, FB penalizes you for not posting regularly. while YT is more sensitive on the content you post, like certain keyword topics kinda triggers some signals so your video gets pushed back on the algo

Actually, both. But especially the algorithm. Platforms generally push profiles that don't post regularly to the background.
