Due to problems with my home computer I had to have Mass Planner turned off for a few days and noticed that my engagement almost doubled.

With MP I was either following or unfollowing half the day and liking my followers/feed the other half. I had MP on pretty low settings, about 200-300 follow or unfollow, and around 300 likes per day.

Was this a coincidence? Or does IG algorithm somehow punish you for behaviour like follow/unfollow?

its possible, anyone else looking into this?
maybe should start an investigation on likes/engagement reach before and after MP is turned off.
If engagement reach increases noticeably i'd say it could be true.

Yes when my bots are off for a few days, engagement is similar for a while then drops.

Just to be clear, do you mean that when your bots are turned off your engagement doubles (more or less) for a few days, then it drops to the previous level even if you keep your bots tuned off?

No, After switching off bots, engagement remains equals as to when bots are running for like 2 days, then engagement drops to around 50% of what it was.

Then why do you write "yes...." in your first message? What you wrote contradicts what I experienced?

I actually had this happen to one of my bigger accounts, while following/unfollowing i'd only get ~5k likes or so, i eventually unfollowed everyone, and just uploading without follow/unfollow and engagement went up to 7-10k likes

You definitely may be onto something here.

That is ironic because for me it is the complete opposite.

Did you go back to following/unfollowing with a bot?
Has the 7K-10K likes remained constant for 1 week+?

Yeah this is like 1 of the few accounts that happened to do this, i'm not exactly sure if it's the follow/unfollow that led to this or if all my posts are going to explore page now and this was a coincidence, i have no idea

Yeah, been like 1 month and constant growth on this account, ~1k followers/day just from posting

Wow, congrats bro. Is this account over 100K? I've seen natural growth once they hit high numbers. As for accounts with less than 50K, it's hard to gain unless you do follow/unfollow.

This is very interesting.

Do you think it has something actually to do with Instagram monitoring your account? I highly doubt it. Probably just a coincidence.

Before seeing this thread i actually decided i would stop using MP and just post/comment and like manually. At the moment im doing my last unfollow on all accounts. i may still use MP to like during engagement rounds. Will keep you guys updated!

when you guys follow/unfollow it is normal to have a higher engagment during that process, why? because new followers will actually check your profile then like your posts.

when you stop it will go down, but, if instagram algorithm penalize your reach during the F/U process, all those likes are from new followers, then if you stop this process your reach will go up.

Stopped follow/unfollow(FollowLiker) and engagement dropped by 50% since then. Still the same posting schedule.

This was a really interesting read.
Has anyone actually do a test with 2 accounts? One using the MP and one not to see engagement levels difference
I would love to know the results if anyone has
