Does anyone know if the number you get from IRS can be used right away or do I have to send them some papers or wait X number of days before the EIN can be used ? By the way, I got my EIN by submiting an online application at IRS website. Thanks

its better to use EIN instead of your SS, because of all the identity theft issue
