1) Sell some of your stuff (furniture, electronics, etc). Go to your friends first, they should be easier to get money from in a pinch, especially since you can talk about your health needs. Ask them if they can give you some of their stuff to sell off. Beyond that, use eBay, Craigslist, or free classifieds.
2) Sign up at several writing sites, offer services on freelance sites and forums. If you have existing writing, graphic or coding samples, use that to show your abilities when answering ads. Slap a blogger blog together to display, or link to your samples, and put that url in your messages.
3) 1 and 2 should get you the emergency money in a week or two. Now learn some skills. Read up on the methods discussed on BHW, elect a few to focus on, and then create test accounts, sites or properties where you put what you've learned into action. Set up a WP blog, create a video for YouTube, configure a page with a content locker, write and format a sales landing page, just so you know you can do it, and can show it to others. Download software shared here that helps automate a lot of IM jobs, or that quickly creates lists or multiple accounts in high demand.
Now you're dangerous, because you can do more things, that you can also advertise you're able to do. Do a few jobs for next to nothing, so you can get more experience at somebody else's expense. Then start charging the regular rate for those freelance jobs. Before long, you'll be over-committed (like most freelancers) with more money coming in from gigs than you thought would ever be possible just a month ago.
