EMDs do work even with almost zero content

From Sept. 2019:
The BHW member noticed it was easier to rank on other non-Google sites with EMD

Personally, if I am searching for something on Google and I see an EMD I am less likely to click on it. However, sometimes those are the only options. So, it happens. For a lot of people, though, I would imagine they are more willing to click on EMDs.

Seems to be quite random, I've tried it and there are some that rank, some that don't rank.
Also the site you are refering to have some of the best backlinks on earth so it helps :)
 
I am already trying an EMD since its been 2 momths only i can't say results as i have less time for it.

But fhe domain still gets traffic, there are two reasons i see -

Its an 11 year old domain with very specific niche EMD.

Its a question everyone has in that niche so the site has daily 50-70 views with absolutely no content.

(I will add ss if possible in evening right now on mobile).

Thats true, people shouldn't bulk buy as i see EMD doesn't work easy way now they need age sometimes and sometimes must make sense that why is that domain out there.

So be specific with them.
 
EMD never stopped working for me.
Its my all time favorite.

EMD with good on page and a little offpage SEO could do wonders.

My friend Kyle Roof has shown numerous times you can rank with crappy content that makes no sense at all ( he's proved this with ipsum Loren )


The domain is 10 years old, so that surely must be a factor?

So can you still get on page 1 of Google with an EMD? YES

Can you do so with almost no content? YES

This is just a thread making observations, please don't rush out and start bulk buying EMDs.

Maybe this is truer for long-tail/medium-tail keywords moreso, and that EMDs can be used effectively to target them, where for major keywords other factors play a bigger role because of higher comp.

Here's an example found while doing niche research recently, this site ranks in the #1 position (ignoring the featured snipped and frequently asked questions) for the term "best tankless water heater" and ranks pretty highly for a lot of other water heater related terms (which seem to have pretty high competition): https://tankless.reviews/

Interestingly it has the "best tankless water heater" article on the homepage, I'm guessing so that makes it so that links built to the homepage get even more value for the site overall? I'm not too sure. A large chunk of this site's backlinks are from spammy .tk domains it seems.

I think the fact that the site links to 2 connected sites and they link back to this site is an important factor as all 3 have decent backlinks.

I don't think the results for a newly registered EMD will be as effective as quickly as they used to be, however it depends too on your links to your site.

What was the interesting thing about this was the lack of content too.

Which is a crazy way to look at things if you're wanting the site for yourself.

I guess when course sellers keep saying EMDs are not sellable, go with a branded name instead then people listen.

Go with what you see working and you're comfortable with.

how does homeopathy work.com or Harrys homeopathy guide = either is fine.

interesting, I think can also use exact keyword parasites sites, may be pointing directly to money site or to the PBN EMD, sites

What do you mean by this bit?

Can you really rank with thin websites for local seo?
 
I think the emds should make some sense to rank. For example : "how to brush" may not rank with shitty content as google will consider the term as question and will try to give the right answer.

Interesting! Has anyone tried to rank an EMD as an answer to a question, to win snippets? Not "how to brush" which pulls up brushing teeth results, but "brush for two minutes". I'll put it on the list of thing to test.
 
Ranking an EMD for long tail versions is easier than non-EMD websites. However ranking an EMD for head terms is tough because of the lack in authority.
 
from what I've seen, EMD's are making "somewhat" of a comeback :)
 
Have a emd (non english site) that got severely hit by May Core update. The domain have a 34DA (just saying that it's not a new domain, etc...)

Not a single keyword related to the EMD was boosted. PS: 100% white hat website.

Besides my own experience, I see sites ranking with EMD and others don't... but not even close as a trend favoring EMD.

I would research more before starting spending money on domain names....
 
Yes, Its work in non-English web site. Can confirm work on local niches specially medium
completion. It will be automatic improve the rank.
