EMD with 2,7 mio searches. Sell or Keep?

No they are not harder to rank. But first of all I would advise you to change Google Keyword Tool to Germany, German and choose EXACT in the left side of the panel. Now you should see much less searches.

This. 2,7m exact searches from Germany are highly unlikely if you keep in mind that even something like "bmw" can't reach even 500k.

If you "target" broad match like you said, all keywords that partial match with your keyword get added to the estimated monthly searches. Broad match is worth nothing.
What is the monthly search volume if you uncheck "broad" and just check "exact"?

I thought the keyword tool would suggest keywords that people actually use to search, but it makes sense since it's an advertising tool and not a SEO tool.
I will run Market Samurai later and pick 10 keyword extensions to rank for. I already analyzed the competition before buying the domain and there are some keywords with nice traffic/competition/CPC .
I already have the same niche but in english

About 700
If this is the case, I would suggest you to keep the domain name. This is because it is pretty hard to sell a .de domain name with only 700 exact monthly searches.

700 Exact matches is very low. People tend to use broad searches and get misguided.
