    Hi people,

I need some advice. I've done some keyword research and found an emd with 2,7 million searches. 90% of the searches come from Germany so I purchased the .de domain.

One word in the domain has an umlaut/mutation (ä, ü, ö) which is normal in the german language and can also be written as "ae" for "ä" for instance, so I also bought the domain with the other spelling.

Also the name of the domain is VERY catchy

I analyzed the competition with ahrefs, Market Samurai and Traffic travis and the competition is so low that it puts tears in my eyes!

Adwords CPC is 0,30€ but my adsense account got deactivated this week because I have another website with a CTR of over 50% and too many invalid clicks (I'm changing now the layout and try to get it reactivated *fingerscrossed*)

I have nothing done yet with this domain because I can't decide what I should do:

    1. Build a homepage around the keyword and monetize it -> good for long term
    2. Sell the domain -> good for short term cash that can be reinvested

I got too excited because my other website made 4€ a day and the payout would have been reached this week, so I spent my 30$/month SEO Budget on fiverr gigs for my (at that time not) banned site. The cash could come in handy.

Also some other gentleman on a german board told me that sites with mutations (öäü) are harder to rank. Is this true?

    Also:
Are there some backlinking programs that don't support these characters?

No they are not harder to rank. But first of all I would advise you to change Google Keyword Tool to Germany, German and choose EXACT in the left side of the panel. Now you should see much less searches.

    Have a nice day:)

This. 2,7m exact searches from Germany are highly unlikely if you keep in mind that even something like "bmw" can't reach even 500k.

Mate, look again for the keyword on Google keyword tool and check only [Exact] to your left.

I don't target exact match, I target broad match. The keyword gets 90% of its searches from Germany.

If you "target" broad match like you said, all keywords that partial match with your keyword get added to the estimated monthly searches. Broad match is worth nothing.

What is the monthly search volume if you uncheck "broad" and just check "exact"?

Thank you Winternacht for pointing that out.

I thought the keyword tool would suggest keywords that people actually use to search, but it makes sense since it's an advertising tool and not a SEO tool.

I will run Market Samurai later and pick 10 keyword extensions to rank for. I already analyzed the competition before buying the domain and there are some keywords with nice traffic/competition/CPC .

I already have the same niche but in english

If this is the case, I would suggest you to keep the domain name. This is because it is pretty hard to sell a .de domain name with only 700 exact monthly searches.

700 Exact matches is very low. People tend to use broad searches and get misguided.

yes 700 is very low I agree but there are some easy to rank keyword extensions with a lot more traffic. It's just a bit more work.
