EMD vs Authority site question

Hi,
I had a quick question. Is it better to rank 5 EMDs in the same niche separately or make an authority site and have the 5 EMDs redirect to inner pages of my authority site.
For example EMD 1 would redirect to www.authority.com/emd1 same thing for EMD 2, etc?

you can make 1 decent authority site around 1 EMD , you can get related keywords and build around all
1 authority site better than 5 MNS since your efforts will focus on 1 site and you will save money in seo
and G rank easier for authority ....
 
But since I already have the 5 EMDs in same niche/keyword related would it benefit to redirect to innner pages of authority site? And if it does benefit, would it be a good idea to do SEO for the EMD that redirects to the authority site of do SEO directly to the authority sites inner pages. Thanks
 
tbh i don't have practical experience with this ,but from other ppl tried it yes you can do it specially you said

as trusted said you can do i i did it a while back for one of my sites seen as EMD small websites are no where near as good as an AS.
 
I would go for the ine authority site. It will be easier to rank, and you will save some money.

5 EMDS man, no question. With all these google zoo updates I'd rather rank 5 sites and lose 1 or two in an update than rank one big site and put all my eggs in that basket. Besides, it's easier if you've got 5 specific kwd emds which should still rank overall with less work than 1 main domain for those same keywords, cumulatively.
 
This qestion have a no wrong or right answer



If u create 5 MNS it would be safer because if u got one site slapped u still got 4 more
All u have to do is create another if u get slapped.


With Authority site u r basically putting all ur money and effort into one site which if anything happen everything will be down the drain

You gotta think smartly now as Google has become smarter than ever. You can have all those domains redirected and there's no harm in doing so. However, if in future your authority domain gets into EMD or any other penalty, you'll lose a big chunk of money whereas if you get several domains and one of them get banned you can still earn some money from other domains you own.

As long as you have actual quality content on your authority, I'd say go for authority
 
The authority site would be better EMD has lost a lot of value after the recent Google update.
 
Get a brandable short domain, redirect those emds on category pages. Get quality quality real quality content from niche specific writers. Expand your keywords by making a subcategory page choose easy keywords on subcategories, interlink your articles make one outgoing link to an authority site per article, proper on page seo and social blast your site to kickstart it .
 
you made me think a lot.

Both will work well it seems. If asked, 5 separate domains would be good enough and better than ranking a single authority domain got redirects of 5 EMDs.
 
I use EMD and authority sites. Both of these can rank very quickly if you are using the right SEO methods. However, if you have time to manage all of the separate EMDs then I would recommend going with those to start off with. They are the easiest compared to authority sites where you have to build out a lot of content.
 
I think Google has filtered out EMDs so it's a little risky, but anything you do has to be quality, or you're seen as spam
 
If those EMD already ranked then don't go with redirect. If you are thinking with new EMD and Authority then Authority is the best choice.
