    Hello,
I'm very new to KW research and have been running into EMD's with suffixes for an example: abc2k dotuknow or abchq dotuknow. Does the suffix 2k or hq have any detrimental effects on EMD in the search engines?
Is there a BEST suffix to use with EMD?
    Thanks

To be honest, it doesn't matter. Just go with the one that sounds well; probably you can exclude the one with numbers - 2k thingy.

Despite of the domain, it ONLY matters is SEO and linkbuilding. You might choose emdhq but another dude might choose emd2k and overank you with right seo and backlinking.

    All the best!

i would suggest making the suffix work. example

    dogtrainer is taken
    try
    dogtrainers
    or
    dogtrainersreview
    etc
as long as that keyword is in there it will make SEO a bit easier but it is just a piece of the SEO pie

I always recommend to go with EMD. If all of the domains are taken and you still need that keyword, then go with suffix. But if there is an EMD with your keyword an it has descent amount of links then you might have to work little harder to outrank it

I wouldn't lose sleep over not getting an EMD, though it is nice to have. If any of the .com/net/org are available, that would be my first choice in terms of SEO. Just to clarify terminology though, keywordhq.com is no longer really an EMD for "keyword". Not that it really matters, but it will make what you're talking about a little clearer.

You will get the most EMD benefit with the exact keyword, e.g. keyword .com.

The best suffix or prefix is one that's relevant to your niche (and keyword research).
For example, if the keyword is dog training, then
dogtrainingreviews .com (.org or .net) is better than purpledogtraining .com (.org or .net)

Don't get too hung up if you can't get an EMD, as it's usually used for long-tail terms (and it's only one of many ranking factors), and if you're building a longer term brand, then go for a short, memorable domain name, that you can extend in the future if required.

I have never liked numbers in the domain name, the main thing is just to have the keyword in the domain name pref in the beginning, that will be good enough.
