Ive found an EMD with 33,000 global exacts and the .org is available. Is this quite rare ?

I havent checked comp yet, but on the first page(I'm on my mobile) there's :

An urban dictionary result

Few brand selling stuff related to the EMD

And at the end of page 1 there's even a sound cloud result that has the search term in it!

I'll have to use something to check if the comp is low soon I suppose, but what do you think?

Usually I go for EMDs that have around 3000 searches a month.....

It's related to clothes, so I'd say it would be good to knock up an amazon related site or something?

The real question is how much money is behind it. I have one or two EMD .com keywords I'd not buy because they have CPC of > $0.50, despite having ~10K exact searches. No other real monetisation possibilities, what's the use in that? My advice would be to use Google Keyword Tool and check the CPC first, if that's sound find yourself Traffic Travis (up to you whether or not you want to support the developers), or use Market Samurai to evaluate the competition.

Keyword Tool (free to use):

Market Samurai (has a free trial):

You are quite correct to say this is very rare. Major TLD EMD keywords with good exact search volume are becoming increasingly non-existent, even at the micro-niche level.Lots of folks hitting that Google keyword tool, with fewer available keywords of the com/net/org variety. It may come down to going with one you've found, whether or not the competition is low or not.

You should check the competition via Market Samurai. Some keywords just aren't worth the amount of effort you'd have to put in to be in the top 3.

Thanks for the help.

I forget what the CPC is (checked last week) but it was around $0.90.

I used a trial of market samurai before so can't check that, actually, I bought a new laptop so maybe I can!

I just found it quite strange that the .org hasn't been taken.....from looking at the first page of google it doesn't look like high comp (but maybe it is!)

The .com, .net , .eu and .co.uk are gone. Hmmmm.

Market Samurai is free, check this thread. It should help you out some.
