EMD Keyword Question

Hey guys I had a question about Exact Match Domain. I'm going to start a site, but the the EMD is already taken.

My question is: Should I just buy a domain that is similar to the keyword I want to rank for? For example if the EMD for "beef soup recipes" is taken should I just create a site that has a catchy title like "Soups Ahoy" (I know it's not very catchy) and just try and rank for that keyword and then also for :"beef soup recipes"?

My end goal is to make an authority site with at least 100 keywords, but I just wanted to know a good starting point.

If it is an authority site it would be ok, as you are ranking on more than 100 different keywords. If it were a micro niche site having the end would be much more important.

Thanks I'll remember that. Just kinda sad a lot of the great EMDs are already taken haha Oh well I guess you just have to be creative!

If we are talking about SEO then I would go for topbeefsouprecipes.com, if you are thinking about brand name you can chose a domain name with related to keywords.

I guess I'm still trying to figure out what it is exactly I want to do. I think a MNS with and EMD would make sense for me just starting out, but I feel like if I made an authority site and built up my brand it would be more work, but more rewarding in the end. Especially since I want to put some great content on it maybe I'd actually help some ppl in the process
