If I have the opportunity to buy a close EMD to my keyword. I have an EMD for the root keyword, every keyword on the site is branching off of this one keyword.

Should I buy an EMD? Is there really any benefit? Would love some help on this, thanks :)

I think the benefit is increasing your on page match count by using full URLs... beyond that I think the benefits are minimal. I know a lot of people say it will harm you but I don't believe that is true currently. See the example search of "dui lawyer los angeles" ... plenty of ranking EMDs and exact matches in titles:

You don't have to go this route, but the data from the field is "it doesn't look like it hurts if you do" it just may not help as much as you hope.

You think 35k words of content SEO optimized, 2k per page with internal linking will rank on keywords 15-30 ?
Wondering if it will rank without too much backlinking.

Depends what the keywords are... the degree of tuning required really depends on the competition and every keyword is different in that regard. If you pm me 2 or 3 keywords I can probably send you the data you need.

EMD is helping to rank better. But it is not as it was before.
There is no harm in using it until you are avoiding over optimizing the keyword.

I was just wondering if it had any benefit at all. Because the EMD I found is a simple two word keyword. Looks clean and somewhat nice actually.

Yes, EMD does help for SEO. I have seen time and time again, even bad websites with little content automatically rank high for competitive keywords.

EMDs are no longer useful as they once were. It does not mean that you should not use keyword domains. You can use EMDs if they sound good and are broad enough to fit your subject. Proper using of EMDs will help rank better.
