EMD and homepage SEO

Hi,

lets say your main money keyword is "weight loss" and you have an EMD domain like "weight-loss.com" at your disposal.

Would you create your main article about "weight loss" directly on the homepage or create a separate page for it? If the latter - would it be then "weight-loss.com/weight-loss"?

Pros and cons about both methods?

The best would be if you target the keyword on the home page ! Already your main domain is having the keyword in it so The chances are your home page will be having the best authority and if the home page is optimized properly you will get better ranking than subpage

More over subpage looks like keyword stuffing in the URL !

weight-loss.com is not EMD of "weight loss". It's a partial match due to hyphen.

In this case, if you are making a small niche site with only a few articles and targeting only a handful of keywords, you can stick them all to homepage no problem.

Be very careful about overoptimisation with EMD tho.

only mistake with EMD we do, we go over optimize. You must be very smart to handle EMD. Use LSI keyword in title. then related terms in contents. don't use even once main keyword.
