Embedded video tube site

I need opinions about this method, if it is worth it.

1.) Buy Domain, Hosting, Theme made for videos (like bee tube)
2.) Create .gifs of videos from youtube (funny, inspirational, etc)
3.) Post the .gifs on tumblr with the link of the video in the tube site i made.

I am planning to use my adsense, but i think it's a bit risky. What do you think? What should I use, and is this worth doing?
