Hi all,

Sorry if this is long.

I am curious, does anyone run their offline business only using email communication? Is it feasibly possible?

The reason I ask, is because I have purchased a course for offering a particular service that probably would never get saturated. The only problem with it is once the prospect gets in touch, you are supposed to call them back. The course even give's sample conversations- that I think could be adapted to emails.

The hang up I am having is some severe anxiety issues, ie- panic attacks with the thought of having to talk to business owners. I really do suffer from anxiety- due to owning an offline business that went through a robbery about a year ago and other personal issues.

My consulting business is ready to go, and I have complete confidence in what I am able to offer. No fears there. I just can't shake the initial contact fear. In fact I tested the client acquisition method and was thrilled to receive 3 phone calls out of the 10 emails I sent out. (I have an 800 # set up with voice mail).

The problem is I can't make myself call them. So in essence- I have a great way to get potential clients but freak out at the thought of talking to them.

Also, if I was to adapt the conversations to email, there comes a point where you have to get them to pay you. Again this is a phone conversation, where you walk the business owner through the payment process.

At the moment, my website is set up, however it does not have any fees or even a payment processor set up. Due to the amount of phone calls that I would have to make, I am already failing and have not called back the 3 prospects yet.

If you were in my shoes would you tweak the phone conversations into emails and then set up a payment page on the website?

I want to thank anyone in advance that can help me out here. Before anyone starts calling me a chickenshit and telling me to grow a set of balls- It's physically impossible for me to do that- I am female and this business has to work to get me and my kids out of a bad situation. I will spare the details.

Thanks guys!

Get yourself a sale person. Offer him/her commission after closed deals.

You are bad at selling? Let the sale guys do that for you.

The way to success:
- identify your strengths and focus on them.
- Identify your weaknesses and outsource them.

Good luck to you with the new business.

That sounds like a doable plan- re- the sales person.

Do you have any recommendations on where to find them?

Also- I would be putting the offline businesses on a retainer fee model. ie- I would get money monthly.

In order to pay the salesperson- would they get money for just closing the sale or a portion of the long term retainer fee?

And thanks for the advice, I really do appreciate it. :)

Do some research on calling methods- there are many excellent resources

I also do calling for my offline business

I can send you the names and authors of some of the articles I have read if you pm me (dont have the download links- printed the stuff) - the basics of it is not to contact by phone with a "selling" mentality. You are looking to build relationships- and you already have removed the first huge obstacle in calling- you have something to talk about already and this is the service that they are looking for-
have to go in with a "how can I help you", "what can I do for you" approach instead of a "here it is- buy it!"

Do you have more details on you services. I have a few friends in India who own call centres maybe I can speak to them for you.
