Hi guys,

I have an email with my own domain. I rarely send outbound email, most of my emails are just replies to inbound emails. However, many are ending up in the receivers spam box.

The emails are hosted on a shared hosting with interserver and I am using the Mac Mail app on my Macbook connected to my home wifi with no VPN to send and receive the emails.

I am assuming this is a problem with the IP. Would this be correct? Is it the IP from my shared hosting or my home IP that will be on the emails? What would be the best way to fix this?

If anyone has any additional important info on emails, feel free to comment too. I'm really clueless with this.

Hosting your email on Google Workspace/ Microsoft 365/ Zoho is a better option than interserver.
Also make sure to implement SPF and DKIM records.

Use this tool https://www.mail-tester.com/ to generate a report about your email. It's indeed easier to just switch to Google Apps for 5$ a month if emails are important to you.

Shared hosting servers are not ideal for email sending. Another alternative is to use Amazon SES (just for email sending for 0.10$ per 1000 emails) but the setup might be complex if you are not familiar.
