Hi what is the best way to build email lists, im trying to break in to the academic writing niche, and was wondering to scrape emails from the established sites, is that a good idea? because SEO direct can be quite tough in this niche, thanks guys~

You can try to find a list of subscribers. However, your emails will probably get flagged as spam or the subscribers will ignore them, (considering that you're an unknown sender). It is also quite possible that your emails will bounce due to unexisting email accounts, or email accounts that have their mailboxes full.

A better way to grow your own subscriber list is to deliver high-quality content, offer your website visitors a chance to get your email newsletter, and invite people following you on social media to subscribe to your newsletter. You can also ask customers to sign up on your thank you page when they make a purchase and get their emails that way, and offer promotions, exclusive offers, or free stuff.

right so you guys are saying it is better to attract people through content right? but these keywords in this niche are extremely hard, what is the best way to go about it? secondly it is not much there on social media either,

Best way is to have high-quality content and a pop-up for people to enter their email.

Write a short eBook/guide and offer that for their email address.

I know that your keywords are "hard", but you can attract visitors through Reddit, Twitter, Instagram etc.

Anything worth doing is hard.

Marketing... is hard, that's why this forum is dedicated to it.

Stacking shelves at a supermarket is easy, that's why there is no forum for it.

You could scrape emails, it won't get you far. Create content worth subscribing to.

Think... when was the last time you opened a spam email and decided to continue reading from the spammers.

Now think... when was the last time you subscribed to something in your niche and why.
