Email marketing where to get started?

I see people are making good money using Email Marketing. I have some servers but im curious where to get started all i know is some software is needed and servers. Where do i begin and what kind of goals can you come across with email marketing?

I have no idea where to begin with email marketing so im looking to learn.

I think a good place to start is to determine what your goals are. What are you trying to sell or draw attention to? After you have that squared away, focus on building up a list of emails that you can manage. There are a lot of different ways to build lists like offering free content or some inexpensive item or offer in exchange for contact info.

First step before anything is actually finding something that you can mail.

Or some might say your first step is to build a list, meaning create sites buy/seo for traffic to get opt-ins.
Others would just harvest a list or buy one.. If you buy are harvest your lists i would begin by finding something that i could mail to that list. When looking for this type of sponsor you are going to have to find ether 1 who will allow some complaints or 2 find a sponsor that will allow you to host your own site so you can filter out the flammers/antis.
 
The quality of your list is very important, a list scraped from Google will get you nothing where as a list consisting of double opt ins focusing on a specific niche will be much more responsive.

There is a lot more to email marketing than meets the eye, good luck!
 
First step is to build a quality email list. And a opt-in list converts better since they did essentially want
your advertisements.

this is some of the most miss information I have heard in a long Time. Please do not listen to this. I dnt want to get into the specifics. But one of my MAIN methods consists of starting with google.

On the other hand. He is right. There is more to mailing then meets the eye. But rest assure there is a method involving google and getting emails that works a whole lot easier then making sites and buying traffic.
 
If you are planning on making a website or squeeze page to get subscribers just get mymail wp plugin (payed or cracked who cares). Easy sign up forms as widgets footers and inpage forms.
 
make your business site, use autoresponder or other software email marketing, give something free like ebook, video, report etc.. if someone is interested and follow your lead, you will get email them.. now you just need to send your product to their email
 
Quality list is very important like what most. Inbox rate is also very important.
 
Planning is everything in email marketing:

You have to:

1. Do some research and do some numbers to understand, which market is most profitable for you, where you have most connections and presence.
2. Either build your own email list or buy one from the email list brokers.
Building own email list is a pain - I was using different databases such as Jigsaw and Hoovers to do it, but you may need another tools depending on your industry.

Get a vps and install powermta
Install interspire
Warm up IP
Clear bounces from mail list
 
Get a linux server and use interspire and start mailing out slowly.

If you have multiple IPs, find a way to create mailing accounts on individual IPs, and use them on Active Campaign and get them to rotate smtps.

Well, now I want to try to do email marketing too. I decide that I want to teach people about online marketing. After collecting some emails, I start my job. I made some powerpoint presentation and articles, which will be shown in the emails. I prepared all my emails that will be send in the first 10 days. Now I have just to launch the whole idea. Tomorrow will be release my first email. I can't wait to see the results.
The idea is that you have to think about something you want to offer, to collect emails, to do some amazing materials to be shared with those emails, and after a time, to try to sell them something. But the most important thing about emails, is that they have to be written very casual, not to technical. It's important to make those people behind the emails to feel that you are just next to them and you are talking with them :)
