Email marketing to transaction email list

This is probably not the right place for this question but I couldn't find a suitable section.

I have around 2000 email addresses in my personal database which I have sold digital products to.

With these 2000 emails I wish to market a product that is within the same industry, but a different niche.

This new niche I wish to email market to will be completely legitimate. The product will be branded and have my companies name which will be attached to my personal details so I do not want to cop a lawsuit for spamming.
This is within Australia.

I've done my research and cannot find anything in regards to this particular scenario.

Does anyone have any advice?

Not too sure about the laws in Australia.

What I did in a similar situation is let people know why I'm emailing then, and tell them they are free to tell me to fuck off by replying something like "not interested" and I'll never email them again.

If you've sold to them before it should be a non-issue. And as long as you give them something of value, you shouldn't get shot down too much.

I have sold to them before, but they wont know I'm the same seller. The two products will not be affiliated in anyway, which is how I want it to be.

I don't think you'll get in trouble, I wouldn't worry about it.

You might do better to remind them that you sold them the other product.

If they liked it, they'll be more inclined to buy from you again.

I don't want to be affiliated with the product that originally allowed me to get their email addresses, as it's operating in a grey area. Not that they know that; they're all happy customers.
