Does country of my email list matter alot?

For example, I have one list that has:
-25% Indian emails
-10% US emails
-And the rest if all around the world again

I mean, those emails are highly targeted, to my niche.. And I havent had a chance to test conversion rate yet, so I am asking you guys, if you have any experience with email marketing..

Does country of people on email list matter alot?

Yes it does. You will obviously have more conversions from those 10% USA Email id's than the 25% Indian Email id's. Probably double would be my bet

Ok, anyone here has alot of Indian subscribers? Do they still convert, even if conversion is lower than standard?

It depends on what you are selling i think. if you are selling ICE in HIMALAYA i dont think you can sell it.. LOL

Haha, true that jmjr1782 :p

I have email list targeted to people that want to 'earn online', so ALL subscribers are in same niche. Currently I only have around 1k subscribers, as I was just trying stuff out, and will test tomorow to see if I get atleat a sale or two, then I will proceed with my method.

Anyway, if anyone has more experience with this, feel free to answer.

i dont know if this will work on your niche.. these people are WANTS TO EARN so why would they buy/spend??
People buy with their needs, i would suggest you go with health niche. What you are doing is contradicting..

This is just a suggestion. LOL

Hm, yea i thought about that.. But some people said that selling good product thats quite cheap, can still work. I am also going to be making daily blog posts with tutorials etc on earning online, and have adsense on it. And then link people to that.

Well if you intend to make money emailing people in the 'make money online' niche, you will need good quality leads. If you acquired this leads from some other provider as opposed to using your own web properties to generate the leads, then you have no idea how fresh or motivated these people are to take action. When convincing people who want to make money that they should spend money - you must be very compelling and use incentive marketing to build up your lists of prospects by giving them free reports or methods to convince them to spend money.

Plenty of information is available about this model, but I think you have an impression that it will be much easier than it will turn out to be. Good luck. I believe you can be successful if you apply yourself! Desperate types can be convinced to buy stuff no matter where they are in the world ... of course your average American has a lot more disposable income than your average Indian, so I guess it's possible to expect conversion to be lower.

I feel that it does matter. It also depends on what you are selling. Because people in different areas are not all going to be interested in the same thing.

As others mentioned here, country matters but most important is your lead's socioeconomic status and the way you acquired these leads. In my opinion if you offer them what they want in a way they can pay for, then you'll convert them.

another experiment you can run has to do with segmentation and pricing.

I agree. It depends on your targetting. If you're selling something relevant to Indian customers, then US-targetted email list might not be the way to go :) Or the other way around.

Indian subscribers don't convert my friend! however, they love free stuff and helps to keep good percentage of open rate; click through rate and download rate which helps to create a good image in the eye of email providers like google and yahoo so that emails keep going in Inbox!

cheers!

It can. If you are selling something that needs to be sold via Paypal or many other online payment methods - then the Indian sub continent is pretty much a waste of time as there are many restrictions on the use of these payment methods.

Scritty

It depends upon what you are selling, so difficult to decide. You better split test conversions yourself.
