Hi, I have an email list of 109 people in the fitness niche and I have generated all the content I can think off. What are other ways of generating content that I can use for my email list and they are double opt in. Also, how many informational emails should I send before trying to sell something?

Thanks.

109 is a small list, if you get a standard conversion rate of 2% that should give you 2 sales, but I doubt it will, you just do not have enough people.

As for content, subscribe to a couple of email marketers lists (use a trash email account for this and forward everything to your main email account) and look at what they are doing. The only one that comes to mind is Johnchow . com, (take out the spaces and this is no recommendation for his products, but I think he usually has an email opt-in overlay when you first go to his website).

If you do not have any content worthwhile don't burn out your email list with unnecessary emails. I would provide updates on the fitness industry or the latest talk about fitness and nutrition. That sort of thing.

Here is one to get you started, though the women will respond to this more than the men. Do a search on Google for "eat chocolate lose weight". At number one is a Forbes article, which says that CNN screwed up publishing such a garbage piece of journalism misleading people. And no you will not lose weight by eating more chocolate, although that is what the CNN article implies. So make your email subject line "Can you lose weight by eating more chocolate?". In your email reference the forbes and cnn articles, and present your side of the arguement. Once you build up someones trust by helping them they are more likely to respect your product recommendations.

But hey, maybe someone else has a better idea.
