Email List Monetization

Havnt been on here in a long time but today I had a friend of mine talk to me about his email list. He is a developer of casual games and says he has 10,000 email addresses from their Facebook logins. Anyways, he asked me about what to do but I honestly havnt a clue. I have never dealt with email lists and it raised my curiosity as well in maybe partnering with him.

So I ask you all, what is the general valuation of such a list? They're "fresh" I guess because he never emailed them and they're associated with Facebook. Was also curious what type of CTR is considered the industry norm and what are the primary means of monetizing (affiliate programs?) and strategizing of doing so with these lists?

I don't have any experience with mailing list, but from an entrepreneurial standpoint he should target his list with relevant material. He could set up a sales funnel, and all that stuff, but what is his audience? Are they young kids who dont have any money, are they adults that are interested in buying ebooks etc. My guess is that they are young kids with no money so he may want to run some cpd ads i believe they are called for some other gaming apps etc.

Basically he should push relevant material to his audience, and im guessing conversions would be pretty low.

Your firends should find higly related content to share to his list....
Content that are related to his apps...
He can also do market research to know his list preferences...
I sugget him to nurtur his list before sending an offer (send non promotional & compelling email) or he risk to loose poeple and the conversion rate will be bad....

For a cold prospect... if you send an affiliate offer... i don't think the conversion will be that good... but int's really really dpend of the offer... so he shloud test to know

First analyze the target of your list (possibly age, male/female and other) and signup to the affiliation network. The kind of the affiliation network depends from what your friend want to sell to his list and this depends 90% from the target!
