If it's not broke, don't fix it. But what do I know? I don't own Twitter, lol. If it does happen, I hope it gets reverted, I'm sure a lot of people have already grown used to those action buttons out there.

If retweet and like buttons are removed, then fewer people will see what's actually on Twitter.

It's like not allowing a Facebook post to be shared.

If these shared buttons are only visible when clicked into the tweet, then the same applies. Engagement and the number of people interacting with Twitter drops.

An expensive way to save space on a screen.

Personally I think he has no idea what he's doing. X is a shitty name and these changes seem random. The cards no longer show article link, domain or title. Just a photo and you have to guess where it's gonna take you. Also likes and RT's were the heart of engagement on X. They're hiding it all so you no longer know.

He waa active on Twitter but he was not a part of the journey of growth of twitter. This had to happen and with this way it will collapse finally.

I think so too. Especially with new social networks that pay users for engagement directly.
