Ella theme

Does anyone here make use of the Shopify Theme: Ella? It's an aesthetic and professional theme but since I integrated it to my shopify store my store speed has dropped drastically. It went from 70 to 25. I recently payed big bucks to this speed optimization guru and he only got it up to a score of 35.. He told me that the website is optimized for speed and that the problems have to do with the theme. I tried contacting envato but they have yet to reply.. Any thoughts?
