Effective way to post Amazon products as an affiliate

In selling Amazon products (as an associate), do you use Amazon's creative banner? Is that more effective or just use a text link with your affiliate ID or perhaps an image file with your affiliate ID in it.

I am new to Amazon and trying to find the most effective way to sell products. All suggestions are most welcome!

Actually thats depends upon where you are using that.
Using Amazon's banner in your website is a good idea that converts more. If you want to promote in forums then use text links. You can use text link in your website as well but its not a good idea.
Best solution in IM is : Trial And Error Method.

Like scorpion said, trial and error is your friend. You could do some A/B testing with cheap PPC traffic.

I like having the amazon banners.... it feels more secure and name brand when its in the visitors face at an unknown website. Ive tested without them, even made some of my own, and for me at least, amazons creatives are the way to go.
