Good time of the day blackhatters. What do you think about guest posts on .edu websites? Are they as powerful as a guest post on a regular .com website? Let's say I have to choose between a DA 50 .com website and a DA 50 .edu website to publish my guest post. Both are in my niche, okay the .com website is related more for like 20% than the .edu. But the .edu is also generally in my niche.

Also, taking into consideration that a guest post on a DA 50 .com site is quite pricey these days to obtain, is it normal to pay as much money to a guest post on a .edu website which has the same authority level.

Which one might benefit more, or should I just go for a test? Any thoughts?

Both are beneficial.
For edu blog post, try to use raw URL or brand anchor. These links helps alot in getting trust and authority in terms of how Google perceives your website.
For other domains use targeted keywords. This will give rank boost.

It depends DA is not thr best metric, better to check its backlinks it’s traffic, and then buy that edu link. DA can be artificially boosted so be careful if you buy only on da

Both has its own benefit
However traffics plays a vital role as well the DA.
Give a TRY .

Both have its own benefit but I recommend you to use only those edu sites that have less spam score. For example if you do research you will see on some edu sites there are many guest post sellers like usao. edu and on the other hand only few sellers are selling columbia. edu so use sites like columbia. edu to get maximum results

You'll probably pay more for an edu guest post solely because it's a .edu site. That's about it if they both have the same metrics as you said

Would it be something like authors.mit.edu or mit.edu? Because they're very different
