I just need 1 .edu or .gov link to out rank several competitors in my niche and I think that'll do it to cement my already good 1st page position. I'm in it for the long haul and already seeing good returns but just need a .edu or .gov link to help.

Any ideas, oh and preferably UK edu links because for my niche a non UK edu link would be VERY unnatural.

Forum profiles are easy. Here is one I had setup via a campaign on fiverr - just register and set yourself up a link or 2.

According to Matt Cutts, all TLDs including .edu and .gov has the same value. Unless the mentioned TLDs are niche relative.

Best option is to find a high pr blog comment edu and comment. If you have scrapebox you can quickly do that.

Second option, get some links from EDU and Gov Wiki.

    I always loved nasa websites.

    ;)

Also, see if you can sneak some harvard.edu (or any ivy league) blogs (if you look around, you can find them) - or at least just outsource them

Links from EDU or GOV tlds do not inherently have any more value than those from any other domain. It just happens that those domains typically have more links and authority. A crap comment link from some inner page of an edu is probably not going to do anything for you.
