.edu domain name

Hello guys, my full time job is working at an international school.
So they have a domain name of "www.mySCHOOLACRONYM.com"

I got an email from the government that the school can get a ".edu.ph" domain name. PH= Philippines

So i can get a SCHOOLACRONYM.edu.ph for $55 a year.
It'll be XXXX.edu.ph
instead of myXXXX.com

should the school get this domain name? will it be good?
I would like some suggestions! Thanks

why not get .edu itself ,since you are a school it should be easy .

Yeah obviously... not so much for SEO but just because its the appropriate extension for an education institute.

Can't get the .edu itself because it is not located in the US. Its located in Philippines.
so there is an extension .edu.ph

So yay or nay?

I'd say YAY, it'd bring more authority to the website, so it's all good, you can always redirect it too.

I say YAY. This url will be better trusted and probably an asset in getting links and mentions on social media.

Go for it! .EDU is always better (even with the .ph addition) for SEO!
