Editing a video to avoid duplication

I know all about the editing of a video to avoid duplication.

but my question is... will the editing not ruin the video's seo?
especially messing with the audio or cutting small part of a video. how will the algorithm detect a video and promote it if it doesn't know in which niche it belongs?

is the title good enough?

YT doesn't analyze video to promote it. It's almost impossible. YT detects titles, KWs, social signals etc any other simple actions.

but then why when i put a tag that is not related to the video. ex: big twitch streamer ( ninja ) with a long tail keyword for very low competition or none at all, it never ranks. no matter how good the video performance.
if he in some way not in the video.
another ex: would be putting a long tail keyword pubg in the tag and description and it is a fortnite video . ranking for it is impossible.


my point is where is the balance between editing a video to avoid duplication or editing it so much that the algorithm doesn't even detects its niche and suggest it
things i edit to avoid duplication: adding intro autro, crop, Image color, resize, changing audio pitch and speed , video's speed, adding sharpness and a couple more

Don't focus on tags. Period.
Focus on the thumbnail, title and description, this is were youtube gets most of what they need to put your video in the "right niche", also don't expect to just magically rank in the right niche from the get go, it takes a lot of time.

Editing or the type of video wont have any influence over the ranking, But if the quality of the video isnt upto the mark or bad then viewers will jump from your video and that can affect your rankings.

Yes that is correct, you have to capture the attention of the viewers as long as possible and give him the desire to watch more of your other videos, that's why making a playlist, using cards and end screens telling them to go watch your other videos is an extremely effective way of ranking in youtube because watch time is king.
