editing a ranked youtube vid

You can edit Title,Descriptions, captions, tag phrases, but not the video....

Do you mean editing the video itself or things such as tags and descriptions? If you are referring to editing a live video, the answer is that you can't do it. However as blackzp said, you can edit the other stuffs such as tags and descriptions. From my experience, making changes in the description (for a highly ranking video) has always resulted in a drop depending on the extent of the changes. At times the video may bounce back to its original position or simply stagnate at a lower position. Honestly, I wouldn't risk it for a video ranking in Page 1 of Google.
beven thanks i ranked a general vid for local search but not not for any specific company to see if i could do it, when i did i got excited and contacted a business who was intrested in renting that spot for 100$ a month but now i have to remove the vid edit it and put co. name and info etc. sucks but ok thanks maybe theres a way around this maybe ill just put info below in descrition? does that seem bad idea?

If I were in your situation here is what I would do.
First, I would add annotations directing the traffic to wherever that $100 a month client wants it (add a phone number or website into your annotations). I would also update the description with the information of the client (phone number/website or whatever else).
Secondly, I would KEEP the first video up, but try to outrank it using the same method you did for the first one. That way if you can't get the second one to rank, you still have the first video on page one making you $100 a month from that client.
